About Ground Zero Coffee Roasters

The Ground Zero Story Ground Zero Coffee Roasters started in Nashik in 2020 with Dhiraj Agrawal’s curiosity about what makes a coffee truly memorable. It began with roasting and tasting, but soon became a much deeper journey into farming, processing, fermentation, water and the science behind every cup. Dhiraj is a Q Grader, CVA Cupper, Q Processing Professional and an SCA Diploma holder. These qualifications have shaped his understanding of coffee, but his real learning continues through conversations and experiments with producers, fellow roasters and coffee professionals. Over the years, Ground Zero has worked with producers and estates including Salawara, NTK, Ammikulavi, SICC, Yettu Coffee, Coffee Origin, Ratnagiri and Kerehaklu. The roastery also works with a small group of international producers, bringing new origins, varieties and processing ideas to its customers. For Dhiraj, the relationship with a producer is just as important as the roast itself. Understanding how the coffee was grown, fermented and dried helps him roast it with greater purpose. Every coffee is treated differently so that its natural sweetness, acidity, texture and character can be clearly experienced in the cup. The name Ground Zero represents a place of beginning. It is where questions are asked, ideas are tested and learning starts again with every new coffee. This thought also lives in the words “Passion for 1%.” It is a reminder that meaningful improvement does not always happen through dramatic changes. Sometimes it comes from adjusting one small detail, tasting again and getting just one percent closer to a better cup. Ground Zero is Dhiraj’s way of sharing that journey with everyone who is curious about coffee. .
